Steelhead fishing on the Alsea
« on: January 03, 2007, 05:40:00 PM »

January and February are the best times for steelhead fishing on the Alsea River on the central Oregon coast.  We had quite of a bit of rain so far and the main Alsea has mostly been too high to fish.  K9 lawman, his neighbor and I finally got out on Monday and caught a couple of hatchery steelhead.   Nice way to start the New Year.  The next day K9 had a big steelhead break his twenty pound test leader.  Will post a picture of their catch on the picture forum.

Good job Bill.    I could see the river was finally greening up.  glad you scored.  Ken sent me a picture and they are beautiful fish.

Congratulations to all three of you.
