The "Pescadero"

My current project:

41 foot wooden Salmon and Tuna Troller, “REE”, taken out of the Canadian Fishing Fleet.

First picture is how she looked, right after I bought her,  with all the commercial gear stripped off and ready for refurbishing.

Second picture is after refurbish, painting and ready to go back into the water.

Third picture is arriving at her new home port of Newport, Oregon.

The newly renamed “Pescadero” now enjoys life as a family cruiser and fishing vessel.  Not shown is a recently added commercial grade hydraulic Crab Pot Puller.  It's not running yet, but hope it will be, soon.  Currently working on rerouting the fuel lines and getting hydraulics to the crab puller.

Finding that these things sure take a lot longer than anticipated.

Next phase of the project involves extending the 'wheel house' about 10 feet, to make more living space.

Wow, that is a nice project you have started there, alot of grunt hours must have went into that. And of course, more to come as a boat is never done, as we all know. Those Hydraulic davits for pulling crab gear are great, my brother in Juneau has one on his boat. I myself have a gas powered one that I put on during our short shrimping seasons over here.
Look great.

Thanks for the encouragement.  She doesn't look any different, but quite a few changes internally.  The old fuel system was a Spaghetti Factory.  Four tanks and eight lines, each with two valves.  I have torn that all out, added one "Day Tank".  Now the four tanks only have one line each.  And that lines goes to a manifold.  From the manifold there is only one line feeding the engine and one return line.  Job is about 90% done.  Will be wonderful when finished, it's just that no one will know "But Me".  LOL

Also built a hydraulic crab puller.  The thing will live 5000 pounds.  Just in case I find any buried treasure..  LOL  Have that installed but still need to hook up the hydraulic lines.  Hoped to be ready for tuna but seem to be missing that schedule.  OH well, crabbing is just around the corner.

Thanks again,
